Doctors
Our practice is growing....
Long Island Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, P.C. has grown from a small private practice in 1985 to a large subspecialty group practice today. We want to thank our referring doctors and our patients for their confidence in recommending other patients, friends, and family. The doctors of LIPOS, P.C. have maintained a common goal of providing the highest quality medical and surgical eye care and vision services to all children and to adults with eye muscle problems.
Our eye care team
Our pediatric ophthalmologists are board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and members of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus. Our NY State licensed optometrists also are members of the American Optometric Association. Our optometrists specialize in the care of children, are certified in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic medications and have also chosen to complete a residency program in hospital-based eye care. Our orthoptists are certified by the American Orthoptic Council and the Joint Commission for Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology. Our NY State licensed opticians have the skills to help us provide quality eyewear from infancy through adulthood.
We learn as we teach
The doctors of LIPOS, P.C. are committed to passing the knowledge and skills we have acquired along to other eye care practioners who will provide eye care for children in the US and around the globe. Our pediatric ophthalmologists are involved in teaching medical and surgical skills in three Long Island and two New York City ophthalmology residency training programs. They regularly participate in sight-saving medical programs in developing countries, have authored scientific papers and textbook chapters, and served as reviewers for medical journals. Our optometrists have been involved in and given presentations for local, regional, and national optometric societies. Our orthoptists have participated in regional and national orthoptic meetings and have facilitated the training of orthoptists at accredited orthoptic schools.
Our offices
We have designed and recently renovated our offices to make the eye examination experience pleasant and comfortable for you and your child. Optical shops at two of our locations improve quality control and save your valuable time. The ability to fill your prescription on premises with the optimum eyewear for your child's face and type of vision problem allows us to better serve your child's individual needs.
